Broken In Brief: 'America’s Funniest Surprise Prostate Exams' canceled after two episodes

HOLLYWOOD, CA--To the cheers of millions, "America’s Funniest Surprise Prostate Exams," the show that both titillated and horrified a nation, was brought to a merciful end after only two episodes, announced rookie Fox spokeswoman Marissa Florentine. “I, for one, am heartbroken,” said Dr. Ken Shunt, creator, Associate Producer and star of the short-lived reality show. “When the word came down, I was up to my elbow in some poor guy’s rectum for what would have been our sixth episode. Imagine the look on my face when I had to tell him that he wasn’t going to make it onto TV. I’ve never felt so awkward.”

The show conceived of as an edgy combination of zany practical jokes and useful lessons on preventative health care debuted to high ratings and vicious condemnations from the press. In an uncharacteristic move that took insiders by surprise, Fox Broadcasting declared that standards of decency were more important than ratings and brought the show to a halt before the airing of the NFL-themed show devised for the kickoff weekend. “We had Peyton Manning and everything,” said Fox senior VP David Harris. “We got him to think it was a common everyday knee check up, then wham!, he’s got his ass in the air and rubber gloves are being snapped into place. He didn’t have his trademark poise then!”

To fill its place in the schedule Fox has commissioned Kelsey Grammar to star in a new terrible sitcom whose first five episodes were written in the time it took you to read this piece.
