bin Who-den? I don't know who you're talking about.

Press Briefing by Dana Perino, September 10, 2008
Q: But Osama bin Laden is the one that — you keep talking about his lieutenants, and, yes, they are very important, but Osama bin Laden was the mastermind of 9/11 –

PERINO: No, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was the mastermind of 9/11, and he’s sitting in jail right now.
See, it's OK that they haven't caught bin Laden. He wasn't all that important anyway. He didn't mastermind and fund 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed did. They caught Khalid. He's in jail. Case closed. Goalpost moved. Ticker tape parade for Bushie. bin Laden isn't relevant to the conversation.

Well, he was when it came time to scare up votes, sell wars, shortchange the Constitution, enact illegal spying, start up the torture factory, and ooga booga the American public into compliance. Then it was bin Laden, bin Laden, bin Laden. He's comin' to get ya, cover your heart, he'll tear it out like Mola Ram. Now when it comes time to assess the successes and failures or our war on terror, well bin Laden becomes less important. Because he's free. Still. Because of Iraq.

But don't you worry, he was just a figurehead. Not important. It doesn't matter that he's free. They got Zacharias Moussaoui and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Stop complaining. 9/11 was a long time ago, stop dwelling on the past. Next question.
