Real life Super Mario 3 Level of the Day

Pictured below is a Russian Lun-class ekranoplan in mothballs somewhere near what appears to be downtown Cleveland. A Soviet-era behemoth and, at 73m long, one of the largest military aircraft ever built, the Lun's eight Kuznetsov NK-87 turbojet engines could deliver almost 29,000 pounds of thrust each. Sadly, as military funding retracted in post-Soviet Russia, this monster was decommissioned before it had the chance to turn Sarah Palin's house into a smoldering pile of rubble.

If you look close, you can almost see Mario making his way up the cannons on the dorsal surface of the fuselage and towards the tail section where Ludwig von Koopa lurks. Click below to very much embiggen.

Many more very large pictures HERE.
