Your good deed for the day
A good friend of TheseBastards who teaches high school in the South Bronx is heading up a fund raising push to send twenty of the best students from this country's poorest Congressional district to Italy for their senior trip. This is a rare opportunity for a bunch of extraordinary young scholars who have already overcome odds much longer than those likely faced by any reader of this blog.
This is where you come in. These intrepid students have, through a combination of candy sales, school dances, sponsoring faculty parties, small business sponsorships, and individual donations, managed to raise over $20,000. They are now in the home stretch and need less than $1,000 to cover the entire trip.
Despite what the fundraising page below says, they are but a few hundred dollars short. Give now. Five bucks, ten bucks, every single dollar helps. Toss them a few bills. Your karma will thank you.
