China's been taking a few hits over the last few days. Human rights? No no no, my friends, their dishonest stage production.
First was the shocking revelation that they used computer graphics during the "footprints to the stadium" fireworks display. This was shocking to all of us who didn't hear Bob Costas explicitly say that computer graphics were being used during the broadcast. This shocking revelation was uncovered when the Chinese men who designed the display accidentally gave full interviews and explained in meticulous detail the logistics, execution, and reasons for the use of CG. I knew they'd slip up by giving full disclosure, that's the way it always happens.
Now it turns out that not only was the little girl that sang some song when I was instead watching Dennis Dixon heave passes to Jeremy Bloom, was chosen for her looks and not her vocal ability! Furthermore she lipsynched to the voice of some other girl who was a better singer, but deemed too repellent for foreign audiences. Tres horreurs! Dismantle the music industry immediately.
I'm sorry phony stagecraft got all up in your phony stagecraft. But it happens, please stop with the mock, fake outrage. Save it up and try to express it about some of the actual bad stuff China does. Pageantry isn't it.
