Praying for rain. It makes more sense than most GOP drivel

VIDEO: Focus pulls video urging prayers for rain on Obama
Focus on the Family Action pulled a video from its Web site Monday that asked people to pray for "rain of biblical proportions" during Barack Obama's Aug. 28 appearance at Invesco Field in Denver to accept the Democratic nomination for president.

The video disappeared from You Tube also, but is now back on the site. View it here.

Stuart Shepard, director of digital media at Focus Action, the political arm of Focus on the Family, said the video he wrote and starred in was meant to be "mildly humorous."
"Dear baby Jesus, please rain on the Muslim man and his 75,000 liberal, gay, atheist, believers. Dobson endorsed McCain just like you said, now we need some help. At least send us some dancing Indians. Feather, not dot. Your will be done. Amen"

Hey, if your policies can't get any traction and you're viewed as the hateful fringe of the religious fringe, why not pray for spite? What else are you going to spend your prayer time on? Less war? Try and get a Republican elected on that. But it's good you spent your money sending a guy to Denver to do a video about 'makin' it rain'. What else are you going to spend that money on? Poverty programs? Some gay guy might not know he's a sinner if you do that.

Water from the sky God is the best use of your efforts. Though if it doesn't rain, that mean Jesus has made a tacit endorsement of Obama. You don't wanna see J-Dawg on the stump. He invented populism.
