via English Russia comes a new release of photos from the Library of Congress of Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky, a Czech photographer who was commissioned by the czar to document the Russian Empire from 1909 through 1915. These are from a period he did before, in 1896. More here and here.h/t Internet Jesus
