Read this now

Esquire interview's Howard Dean about health care, the problems that haven't been focused on, a public plan, public vs. private, the people who have health care but don't go to the doctor, the lying ability of Republicans, who he'd most like to feed to a hungry bear, and how much Washington is like a cult. It's mostly in promotion of the points he makes in his new book I Bet You Wish You Didn't Obsess Over That "Scream" Thing and Elected Me You Rotten Bastards Howard Dean's Prescription for Real Health Care Reform.

As an addendum also read this publication from the Urban Institute which pretty much explicitly states that any health care option has to include a public plan if it actually wants to do things like cuts costs and cover people.
