But McCain doesn't have enough money for Michigan

I guess we know why Sarah Palin accepted the VP slot. She didn't actually want to be VP, no I think she saw the writing on the wall, she just wanted to update her wardrobe and charging $150,000 to Alaska would be noticeable. This really ought to help her connect with the working class going through financial troubles.
Since her selection as John McCain's running mate, the Republican National Committee spent more than $150,000 on clothing and make-up for Gov. Sarah Palin, her husband, and even her infant son, it was reported on Tuesday evening.

That entertaining scoop -- which came by way of Politico -- sent almost immediate reverberations through the presidential race. A statement from McCain headquarters released hours after the article bemoaned the triviality of the whole affair.

"With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it's remarkable that we're spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses," said spokesperson Tracey Schmitt. "It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign."

Ah yes charity. You do see lots of of homeless people wearing $49,425.74 worth of women's clothes from Saks. When I go to the Salvation Army I usually see $75,062.63 worth of shit from Nieman Marcus. So take heed homeless of Wasilla, you are going to have a bangin' pantsuit to wear at the shelter. Even her husband and Trig got in on the action. What's his ass got some suits and Trig got the latest in designer baby clothes.

So this ought to really drive donations to the RNC. "Sure we pulled out of Michigan and Iowa, New Mexico, and Colorado look bleak. Sure it's an uphill climb for Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and Nevada and we might lose Indiana. But if you give money now we can get Sarah some swank new boots that she can look killer when she's apologizing for calling sections of the country un-American. Check, cash, or Nordstrom's gift card?" On the bright side they only spent $4,716.49 on makeup and clothes for her, which is half what they spend on reducing McCain's lizard like sheen.
