Nice to know

Just in case you had any real lingering hopes that the health care deal had any real positive benefit to you as a meat-bearing American, the Politico's Ben Smith decided to pass on a little note he got from an "insurance industry insider" who is "deeply involved in the health care fight":

"We WIN," the insider writes. "Administered by private insurance companies. No government funding. No government insurance competitor.”

About time something good happened for those kids. They've been squeaking by on pluck and moxie for so long, it's nice to see them catch a break. See, dear readers? It really just is a matter of good-ol American sticktoitiveness... and maybe a half a billion or so in lobbying costs.
