Torture day!!!!!

The Justice Department just released 4 memos that basically outlined that the "legal" basis for the program of torture that went on at CIA black sites. They are almost entirely unredacted and full of lots of decisions and justifications that put that wonderful vomit taste in your mouth. Enjoy.

http://72.3.233.244/pdfs/safefree/olc_08012002_bybee.pdf - memo from Jay Bybee to John Rizzo about torture techniques used on Abu Zubaydah

http://72.3.233.244/pdfs/safefree/olc_05102005_bradbury46pg.pdf -- memo from Steven Bradbury to Rizzo about waterboarding and other techniques

http://72.3.233.244/pdfs/safefree/olc_05102005_bradbury_20pg.pdf - memo from Bradbury describing the techniques that could be used in combination with each other.

http://72.3.233.244/pdfs/safefree/olc_05302005_bradbury.pdf - memo from Bradbury to Rizzo about techniques to be used on "high value" targets
Glen Greenwald went to the trouble of highlighting the best part of the memos, the one where they acknowledge their own massive hypocrisy and promptly decide it isn't relevant.

AND THE HOOOOOOOOOME OF THE BRAAAAAAAAAAVE!!! Good stuff. Good thing the guy who wrote most of these memos, Jay Bybee, has been rightfully shunned from decent society and doesn't hold a position of impor....oh, he's a federal judge on the 9th circuit? Wonderful.
