It begins...

God love RNC Chairman Michael Steele. He may be massively incompetent and unfit to run the RNC, but he is entertainingly dim. Only he could set the bar on crazy Elena Kagan statements mere hours after she was announced as Obama's pick for the Supreme Court. It was tucked away in a little statement after a jag on the "liberal agenda" she supports. See if you can point it out.
Given Kagan's opposition to allowing military recruiters access to her law school's campus, her endorsement of the liberal agenda and her support for statements suggesting that the Constitution "as originally drafted and conceived, was 'defective,'" you can expect Senate Republicans to respectfully raise serious and tough questions to ensure the American people can thoroughly and thoughtfully examine Kagan's qualifications and legal philosophy before she is confirmed to a lifetime appointment.
It's right there at the end: her support for statements suggesting that the Constitution "as originally drafted and conceived, was 'defective,'". Why that look innocuous enough, you might be saying. He's just taking the same "liberals hate the Constitution" track that every Republican takes after a hard day of working to undermine the Constitution.

But you have to look a little deeper into Kagan's statement to get the full breadth and depth of Steele's stupidity. Oh yes, she did agree with and describe the Constitution as "defective", but she and the man she was agreeing with, Thurgood Marshall, might just have had a point.
Just one problem -- Kagan was writing about comments made by Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. And Marshall was referring to slavery.
...
Marshall's speech gave particular note to the constitution's original definition of a slave as counting for only three-fifths of a person. Kagan wrote in her piece that "it was the role of the courts, in interpreting the Constitution, to protect the people who went unprotected by every other organ of government."
That's right, they were criticizing the part of the Constitution that legalizes slavery and treats blacks as three-fifths of a person. Now I know we have to pretend that the Constitution is an unflawed document handed down from God to Jesus On The Cross, who proceeded to sign his name all big like at the bottom with a blood soaked nail. But can we maybe agree that the parts that enshrined slavery and an entire race as second class citizens/fractional people were... I don't know... bad? Everyone doesn't have to do it. Maybe just people like, say, the black chairman of the RNC. No?

Still want to stick to that criticism of Kagan, Mike? Yes? Don't want to admit you didn't read anything she said before firing off a press release accusing her of not giving slavery its due? No? OK, then. Keep up the good work.

Oh you didn't know about the breathing tax, did you?

From the RNC comes this extra-crazy bit of reactionary paranoia. The black man knows where you keep your money! He's coming to take it! Taxes! Fuck your wheelchairs! Gesundheit tax! Breathing taxes! IRS agents multiplying like Agent Smith in the Matrix! Cats and dogs living together and getting taxed!

I'd tell you to take a few deep breaths and relax, but I don't know if you can afford the extra money you'd have to pay out to Obama's IRS Airstapo. Plus there's that whole Relaxation Tax too. But I've said too much, I'll probably have to pay the Revealing Too Much Sinister Information Tax.

In any event, as the ad implores you: give to the RNC. They really need the cash to put together a kick-ass lesbian bondage and stripper party. Gotta spend money to make money!

Ballin'

As we are a massive blog empire with millions, nay billions, of committed readers (read: a few dozen of our friends... if that) we are likely to assume that our vast demographic variety (read: a bunch of white liberals in their twenties) also includes some Republicans.

Perhaps in a fit of pique or some race based vapors over Obama or health care, you might have decided to donate some money to the RNC to help retake the House, Senate, and overthrow the socialist network that has been built in this country in one short year. Why? Because it is marginally more entertaining than flushing that money down the toilet. Plus, it doesn't enrich the sewer people. Scofflaws and government teat suckers the lot of them.

But you might wonder what your donation to the RNC will get you. Well, the answer is "a hell of a good time for RNC Chairman Michael Steele".
The Daily Caller reports that “FEC filings suggest Steele travels in style”:

Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,946.25 spent at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

Although Steele’s high-flying ways have angered GOP donors, RNC communications director Doug Heye explains, “It takes money to make money.”
Ballin'! Though as I would know Sean would know, no "nightclub" that has dancers lezzing it out in bondage gear has them "simulating" anything. Maybe the bondage thing was a metaphor to illustrate how they're using procedural tricks to tie up Congress and the lesbian thing was a thematic expression piece to illustrate the dangers of gay marriage and gays in the military. Or maybe it's just the only way Michael Steele can relax after a hard day of yelling "Armageddon!" on the TV.

My favorite part of the story is the $.25 part of the tab. It either suggests that the person signing it was too cheap to bump the tip up an additional $.75 (it would just encourage the lesbian stripper's poor life choices and wouldn't empower them to find better work) or Steele was there with a bank roll of quarters, tossing them up on the stage and asking for fifty cent lap dances. Possibly nickel lap dances.

Takes money to make money. And trips to bondage clubs, it also takes trips to bondage clubs to make money. Just imagine the cash they'll rake in for next month's Palin/Bachmann duo show at the Spearmint Rhino in Vegas. $100 buck cover, three drink minimum, and no touching.

The end times

We here at TB Industries are avid Armageddon watchers. We like to look at any situation and extrapolate how it might end society and civilization as we know it. Be it giant space meteors, global warming, complete economic collapse, hadron/hardon colliders opening black holes on the French border, nuclear devastation, plagues, angry God/Gods on smiting sprees, or our dream... zombies, we are eager to see the world end. Mostly because we feel we'll survive and come to rule the wasteland that comes after. We're optimists.

But we also like to sarcastically joke about the Republican party and their dire predictions for things that will happen if Democratic legislation passes. Things like the systematic murder of the elderly because of health care. I guess when Barry puts pen to paper later today on that health care bill, he'll just be heralding some new round of horrible plagues. Maybe even the end times. No, seriously.

Yes, actual Armageddon.... because people will get better access to cheaper health care. I think you can all see the nightmare scenario that will bring about. But God bless the incredulous Shep Smith, who must be building up to another outburst any day now, for pushing through and getting Steele to claim that they want to get to a more civil place in politics... right after he declared the end of the world because of the health care bill and right before he plugged a site where you can go view a flame engulfed Nancy Pelosi and donate $16,000 to throw the bitch out of the Speaker's seat.

So on a scale of Armageddon we're going to have to rate health care as a weak 1, despite Steele's claims that it's a definite 10. There is a chance that the health care is so good that it will create functional immortals and overpopulation will occur, but that's a long shot. Plus immortality is the complete opposite of zombification, which is a major negative of the horror scale for an apocalyptic event. Steele thinks we're all going to die, we just wish we could believe him.

Shut up and give

What exactly is the plan for the GOP's return to power. Sure, sure: oppose everything, pull down government on top of themselves, chastise Democrats for failing to fix the problems it took them eight years to create in two... with a straight face. We all know that's the general outline and have seen it played out over the past year. But what's their actual point-A-to-Z plan to get back into power?

Well, according to RNC documents obtained by Politico, it's pretty much the plan I listed above... only with a healthy dose of seething contempt, disdain, and openly hostile scorn for the intelligence of their voters and donors, large sections of the American public, and their own lawmakers. Mostly the donors though.
The Republican National Committee plans to raise money this election cycle through an aggressive campaign capitalizing on “fear” of President Barack Obama and a promise to "save the country from trending toward socialism."

The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how “ego-driven” wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and “tchochkes.
...
Manipulating donors with crude caricatures and playing on their fears is hardly unique to Republicans or to the RNC – Democrats raised millions off George W. Bush in similar terms – but rarely is it practiced in such cartoonish terms.

One page, headed “The Evil Empire,” pictures Obama as the Joker from Batman, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leaders Harry Reid are depicted as Cruella DeVille and Scooby Doo, respectively.
Ouch. Barry and Pelosi get two of the most iconic villains in American popular culture and Harry Reid is only characterized as a hungry, yet cowardly, talking cartoon dog who the Speaker may or may not turn into a magnificent coat? ....Yeah, that seems about right.

There's even a section in their presentation entitled "Visceral Giving" in which the motivation of low level GOP donors is listed as "fear" and their mood "reactionary". Big ticket donors are treated with more respect as their desires are only listed as "access" and their concerns "ego-driven" and susceptible to "peer to peer pressure". On the other hand the RNC does want to "Put the Fun Back in FUNdraising".

So just in case you were wondering, no, the Republican Party doesn't have any sort of specialized disdain for you personally or some vendetta against the country and its institutions. They just feel that way about everybody and everything. You're just lucky you haven't given money to them, because the RNC really seems to have a negative opinion about those people.

And why shouldn't Michael Steele have a healthy amount of distrust and dislike of these donors? These are, after all, people who willingly gave money to the RNC. He's justified.

Look before you leap

As Obama prepared to give his speech yesterday the RNC was looking for anything to hit him for and criticize him for. And why not, that's their job. So as the gerbils ran furiously around the wheel in Michael Steele's head, he finally seized upon what he thought was a slice of fried gold: Obama was making a point to speak in the hall of the place that held the Constitution and the son of a bitch once had the nerve to call that document "fundamentally flawed". Jackpot! To the Twitter-machine!
RNC: as he prepares to deliver remarks in hall that holds the constitution, flashback obama: "constitution flawed" http://bit.ly/tFL7O #RNC [Twitter, 5/21/09]
The problem? The fundamental flaw Obama was referring to was the fact that the Constitution not only allowed slavery, but only counted black people as 3/5th's of a person. That the framers did not see blacks or slavery as "a moral problem involving persons of moral worth."

So the RNC basically just went out of it's way to criticize the President for thinking that blacks should have been bumped up to a whole 5/5th's and maybe got paid for their work. It's a bold strategy. The "We believe the Constitution was so right that we need to go back to using the 3/5th's compromise" move is a risky gambit, but I can see why the RNC wants to try it.

I'm not sure the Democrats will go for it, so I think I've come up with a new compromise: blacks go back to 3/5th's but we bump gays up to having the marital rights of 2/5th's of a person. Add it in together and that constitutes the two groups having the rights of a full person. We honor the Constitution like the RNC now thinks we should (except for the parts about the President followin' laws and stuff) and we make our country 2/5th's of the way more progressive towards gays. Win-win.

Wait.....they chose...adult behavior?

In a rare flash of adult behavior, the RNC decided to vote down the eminently childish plan to rebrand the Democrats the Democrat-Socialist Party and rebrand the GOP as the He-Man Handsome Jesus Par-tay. Was it a full moon? Did someone show them a graph charting their Congressional losses with projections for 2010? Did the Holy Spirit jump into Michael Steele and tell the assembled masses not to vote for it during a fit of speaking in tongues? Tell me, I must know.
The Republican National Committee backed away Wednesday from a resolution that officially called Democrats the “Democrat Socialist Party,” but instead voted to condemn Democrats for what it called a “march toward socialism.”

The voice-vote came after an unusual special meeting of the party that underlined fractures among Republicans on how to deal with President Obama and the Democratic Party. The original resolution was backed by some of the party’s more conservative members but was opposed by the party chairman, Michael Steele, as well as other Republican leaders. The opponents said the proposal to impose a new name on the Democrats made the Republican party appear trite and overly partisan, and would prove politically embarrassing.
Oh, they rigged it. That would have been a tense vote count had they decided to really vote on it. Michael Steele counting ballots, flop sweat on his brow, finally ending with a disgusted slam of the last ballot to the ground and a plaintative cry of "...you dumb bastards." Instead they just had Steele gesticulate his arms up and down while acting as an applause meter while Hayley Barbour yelled out "Let's make some noise for sanity! I can't heaaaaaaaar yooooooooouuuuuuuuuu!" and pretended the guys starting in disbelief at what their party had become were louder than the guys in the Nobama hats and Hannity shirts.

Gotta say, I did not think Steele was this smart. I might have underestimated the intell...oh Christ, Steele just claimed "liberalism will kill you". I take it back. Accidental smartness. Fluke. Won't happen again.

Quote of the day

Finally a Republican has made a non-Jesus based argument against same-sex marriage. Turns out it's still a bad idea because it makes the baby Jesus cry, but gay marriage is also a bad idea because it secretly enables gay couples to bankrupt the American business community. Teh gayz will steals all the moneyz!!
In a breakfast speech to delegates of the Georgia Republican convention, Steele put himself in the shoes of a small business owner having to pay for health care and life insurance for a same-sex couple.

“Now all of a sudden I’ve got someone who wasn’t a spouse before, that I had no responsibility for, who is now getting claimed as a spouse that I now have financial responsibility for,” Steele said. “So how do I pay for that? Who pays for that? You just cost me money.”
Makes sense to me. Of course there are those pesky studies that show things like gay marriage being able to pump something like $700 million into local businesses and $75 million into the state for licensing fees just in California alone, but I'll take Steele's word for it. The gays are gonna destroy small business.

Great idea

What do you do if you're a once great party that is now in the throes of almost total irrelevancy, historic unpopularity, is the punchline to any number of "funny in the tragic sense" jokes, and your prospects for maintaining the meager power you do have looking dimmer as the full crushing weight of your reign of stupidity hammers down on the American people? You start spinning your wheels with fruitless, empty gestures meant to speak to no one but your craziest fringe, further alienating yourselves from the American public. I mean that's the obvious plan, right?
A member of the Republican National Committee told me Tuesday that when the RNC meets in an extraordinary special session next week, it will approve a resolution rebranding Democrats as the “Democrat Socialist Party.”

When I asked if such a resolution would force RNC Chairman Michael Steele to use that label when talking about Democrats in all his speeches and press releases, the RNC member replied: “Who cares?”
Let it be said that the GOP is truly the party of ideas, that the RNC under Michael Steele's tenure is bringing worthwhile discussion to important debates, and the GOP is no way a complete and utter embarrassment/sideshow.

Whither the hip-hop GOP?

It's bee a good run for Michael Steele as head of the RNC. He promised a hip-hop GOP, handed out "slum love" to Bobby Jindal, spent fifteen whole minutes opposed to Rush Limbaugh before begging for forgiveness, seemingly shorted campaign committees money, can't decide if he's for or against the stimulus, been criticized by practically every member of his party, and seemingly has no clue how to run a national committee. Somehow this hasn't seemed to inspire confidence in him among his peers and defeated enemies.
Republican insiders tell Political Wire that a no confidence vote on RNC Chairman Michael Steele is likely to be called after the NY-20 special election on March 31 -- regardless of whether Republicans win the seat or not.

Katon Dawson, who came in second in the January RNC vote, is said to be quietly organizing a vote and is getting the support of several state party chairmen who want to dump Steele.
Who is the guy planning to unseat the first black head of the Republican Party and perhaps it's only black member? A guy from South Carolina who belongs to a whites only country club. They can't even attempt to triage their initial foot shooting without shooting the other foot. God loves us all so much that he might arrange this sideshow for public viewing.

I think they ought to give Steele a chance. I mean it's not like after rumors of and uprising against him went public he decided to go out and declare he was pro-choice, right? He did? Then he immediately remembered what party he was in and walked it back, making him seem deeply confused and nonsensical? Oh yeah, keep him around. The man makes Harry Reid look like Alexander the Great.

The Republican makeover

There are times when you hate the Republican party, scientists call those "most times", but then there are times when you are glad for their very existence. Such as the times they say stuff like this with a straight face:
"We need messengers to really capture that region - young, Hispanic, black, a cross section ... We want to convey that the modern-day GOP looks like the conservative party that stands on principles. But we want to apply them to urban-surburban hip-hop settings."
...
Steele recently said that President Obama's stimulus was just "bling bling."
As to applying GOP principles to "hip-hop settings", what else can you do? Your members are rich, flaunt wealth, horde guns, and are always in trouble with the law. That's a rhyming couplet away from being T.I. I know it's tough being unliked and unhip and reduced to trumpeting uniform opposition as an achievement. But for the love of God don't go down this path:

No one wins when political parties try to "rap" with "the kids".

Your new Republican party

Joe the Plumber advises GOP-ers
Fresh off his stint as a war correspondent in Gaza, Joe the Plumber is now doing political strategy with Republicans.

When GOP congressional aides gather Tuesday morning for a meeting of the Conservative Working Group, Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher – more commonly known as Joe the Plumber — will be their featured guest. This group is an organization of conservative Capitol Hill staffers who meet regularly to chart GOP strategy for the week.
Michael Steele, new RNC Chairman
Michael Steele had a lot to overcome. One of his opponents, the sitting GOP Chair from South Carolina, had just resigned from an all white country club and admitted that he became a Republican in reaction to his personal experience with desegregation. Another opponent, Chip Saltsman, sent out a wildly racist CD to RNC members which included the now infamous Magic Negro and Star Spanglish Banner songs.
Anyone wonder why they're the minority party and in danger of becoming the regional south only party? Not only are you taking political advice from the guy who thinks taxes are socialism and the military should have autonomous control over the media to keep the truth from getting out, they elected Michael Steele to head your party, but only barely ahead of the guy who resigned from a whites only country club the week before and who became a Republican because Democrats let black people go to his school.

Michael Steele, whose '06 Senate campaign saw him lose by double digits to a man without a discernible pulse and saw Steele unveil his brilliant campaign strategy of pretending to be a Democrat (even printing up blue placards that said Steele Democrat, and handing out fliers in black neighborhoods that said he was a democrat) and stumping around the state in a bus with Mike Tyson and Don King. He also made up a story about a racially motivated attack (people throwing Oreos at him) and was the guy the RNC used to trot out whenever someone in the party did something egregiously racist and needed him to provide some "It's no big deal" cover.

The strategy sessions between those two ought to be dynamite. Though really I guess they don't really have to strategize beyond "Oppose Obama", "Oppose Obama w/filibuster", "Blame Obama for the stuff that Bush did". The job practically does itself.

RNC sweepstakes

I bet you thought the battle for head of the RNC was just a contest to see who could come up with the most racist folk based novelty song. You'd be right, but it's also a contest to see that if they level timid criticisms and charges of "He deviated too much from Republican orthodoxy at the end there" that they can convince the American people (who are really paying close attention to the RNC chairmanship) that they aren't like Bush.
  • "Most of us strongly supported the Bush administration through the entire two terms, but in the last few months, this bailout and the abandonment of capitalism really kind of sealed it,"
  • "People in this country are more conservative than what has been shown," said Cathie Adams, an RNC member from Texas. "Republicans have lost because we were playing the me-too game of growing government."
  • RNC members frequently criticize Bush's "compassionate conservatism," Blackwell has been the most explicit, likening Bush to former president Herbert Hoover for advocating policies that increased the size of government.
  • "There are things President Bush did very well; there were things we wish he had done differently...but it's so easy to play Monday-morning quarterback," Smith said.
Yes, this clearly shows a finger on the pulse of the American people. The last two elections people just looked at the Republican party and said "These guys are just playing 'me too' at the game of growing government, I'll vote for Democrats." I do appreciate Blackwell's grasp of American history, though. Hoover and Bush are the same because they grew government? Hmmmm, close, but not quite hitting the heart of it. But I do think that Americans will be swayed by the message of "Sure Bush was great, he just went off the rails there at the end....AND ONLY THE END! Anyway, it's all monday morning QB bullshit that no one's interested in. Anyone want to hear about capital gains cuts?"

At least one person in the article seemed to get it: John Feehery, Dennis Hastert's former top adviser. "I think we're becoming a regional party, it seems like we only want to appeal to Southerners. We seem too far to the right, and I think we need to have a better understanding of principles that appeal to people in all 50 states." Of course he'll be ignored and drummed out of the party. Keep on keepin' on RNC, I don't think you've quite cracked your problems yet. Don't worry though, as Democrats have shown, you don't actually ever have to become a cohesive party with strong messages that's in touch with America to actually get back in charge. The downside is you don't have a charismatic black guy to hide those problems. C'est la vie.

Ken Blackwell has his priorities straight

Former Ohio Secretary of State and RNC Chairman Candidate Ken Blackwell has decided to take to the streets to drum up some good old fashioned grass roots opposition to President's Obama's proposed stimulus plan. Not only is Kenny afraid of the looming specter of Big Government (but not Big Unemployment or Big Soup Line) he's afraid of another, far more insidious repercussion: the stimulus working and making Democrats popular.
While only a few details are known, one overlooked issue is that it could create a major electoral advantage for Democrats at taxpayer expense. That would be unacceptable for what is being touted as a nonpartisan measure, and gives Republicans yet another reason to oppose it if not restructured. […]

But most federal employees, that are not political appointees, vote Democrat. Since Washington, DC is the seat of government, whenever new federal bureaucrats are created many live in Maryland and Virginia. In 2008, Virginia went Democrat for the first time since 1964, and Mr. Obama won it by 130,000 votes. Creating 600,000 new jobs might help cement Virginia in the Democrat column, making it harder for Republicans to retake the White House.
You fucking Democrats with your job creation plans and economic recovery packages! How dare you try and recover some of the couple million jobs that were lost last year and reverse the trends that show even bigger job losses this year. Have you no shame?

Keep in mind that Obama's stimulus plan only creates 240,000 government jobs, or around a third of what Blackwell claims, or that it also creates 700,000 jobs in mining and construction among others. Ken Blackwell thinks that we need to stand in the way of that just in case a competent and successful economic policy makes people like the opposition party. Yeah, I'm not sure this line of attack on the stimulus will gain any real traction with the people. "Sure I'm jobless and defaulting on my mortgage, but this attempt to help me out and fix this economy seems like it might make be appreciate a political party. Fuck that! Honey, get the kids, we're eating at the soup kitchen again."

I'd like to think that the crippling losses in the last two elections, as well as the general unpopularity of the Republican party and the state of the country after their streak of leadership had taught the GOP something. It didn't. Partisan politics always supersedes national interest. The problem is that there is a case to be made that Obama's stimulus plan has problems. It probably isn't big enough. But try arguing that and keeping your testicles from being cut off in the Republican party. DEMOCRATS BAD will have to do.

The positive boon of low grade racism

If you can reminisce back to yesterday we can all remember junior grade Huckaflunkie Chip Saltsman decided to bolster his candidacy by passing around a mixtape he made with the all time classic tune "Barack the Magic Negro" on it. Good news for Chip, despite the fact that people of normal breeding and 21st century mentalities are embarrassed for you, you are not running for the chairmanship of the party that represents those thoughts. You are running for the head of the RNC and the fact that your childish traipsing into fifties era black references pissed of the liberals means that you are now the front runner for the RNC position. Pass the champagne, and make sure one of the black servants gets it!
The controversy surrounding a comedy CD distributed by Republican National Committee chairman candidate Chip Saltsman has not torpedoed his bid and might have inadvertently helped it.

Four days after news broke that the former Tennessee GOP chairman had sent a CD including a song titled “Barack the Magic Negro” to the RNC members he is courting, some of those officials are rallying around the embattled Saltsman, with a few questioning whether the national media and his opponents are piling on.

“When I heard about the story, I had to figure out what was going on for myself,” said Mark Ellis, the chairman of the Maine Republican Party. “When I found out what this was about I had to ask, ‘Boy, what’s the big deal here?’ because there wasn’t any.”

Alabama Republican Committeeman Paul Reynolds said the fact the Saltsman sent him a CD with the song on it “didn’t bother me one bit.”
One wonders why the RNC has trouble making inroads to non-white constituencies. I guess when your entire political party has devolved and unified behind the one singular overarching principle of "If we do this it'll piss liberals off" then this must seem like a good idea. Complain that the Liberals, in conjunction with the Space Jews and Liberal Media Conspiracy, are blowing this out of proportion to attack a man no one cares about, and then follow it up with a barrage of complaints that they're taking the casual use of racial colloquialisms from the Depression 'out of context'. Clearly you've all learned the lesson of the last two elections and are on the road to becoming a party full of adults.

I can't wait for Saltsman's next release Richardson: That There Wetback What Done Runs Commerce. It'll be a 'taken out of context' musical extravaganza for the whole white family.

You stay classy RNC

The race for head of the RNC is a tough and hard fought battle. After all, who doesn't want to preside over a party that just got it's head handed to it in two straight elections, is being blamed for the worst financial crisis since the Depression, and doesn't seem to have any ideas beyond filibustering and whining about the liberal media. That's why you need to win over as many RNC voters as possible, to show them you're a mature adult, ready to lead the party back to semi-relevance. That's why Chip Saltsman, Mike Huckabee's campaign chair, is sending out Christmas greetings with music. Everyone loves music, right?
RNC candidate Chip Saltsman's Christmas greeting to committee members includes a music CD with lyrics from a song called "Barack the Magic Negro," first played on Rush Limbaugh's popular radio show.

Saltsman, a personal friend of conservative satirist Paul Shanklin, sent a 41-track CD along with a note to national committee members...

...The CD, called "We Hate the USA," lampoons liberals with such songs as "John Edwards' Poverty Tour," "Wright place, wrong pastor," "Love Client #9," "Ivory and Ebony" and "The Star Spanglish banner."

Several of the track titles, including "Barack the Magic Negro," are written in bold font.
It's a comedy tour de force. Ken Blackwell, black guy running for the RNC position on the "Shouldn't we have a black guy running things too" banner, immediately rushed to defend Chip. I guess he's so used to being rushed out to defend Republican positions, policies, and statements directed towards the black community that it's just a reflex action at this point. Mike Duncan, another RNC candidate, released a statement saying "I am shocked and appalled that anyone would think this is appropriate as it clearly does not move us in the right direction." Well said and well thought out, too bad it probably ensures he'll lose terribly.

Ah well, Chip pissed some liberals off so I guess he's the top candidate to take over now. Thanks for not learning anything RNC. Keep it up.
