Down goes Nader

Ralph, unlike a lot of people, I don't blame you for 2000. I don't fault people for voting for the candidate they wanted and I don't blame 3rd party candidates for running, no matter what their odds. Your central argument of "they're both the same" was laughably retarded, but whatever. But please, for the love of God, will you shut the fuck up and go away? The day after we have the first black President, you're going around wondering if he's going to be an Uncle Tom? Seriously? Do you even do anything anymore? Didn't you used to be an advocate for the public good? Now you just seem to run self-obsessed vanity campaigns that don't seek to either expand 3rd parties or push new ideas, but just seem to bitch because the ideas progressives and Democrats are using aren't your exact ideas. Voltaire referred to "the perfect as the enemy of the good" and that seems to be what you've based your whole political career around lately, being the enemy of the good. Tossing bombs because you've got nothing better to do.

Even Shep Smith was blown back by your statement. That seems to be his role lately on Fox, get totally dumbfounded and bewildered by something someone on Fox says, ask them to breathe for a second, walk their crazy statement back, and then shake his head in disbelief when the person doesn't. Ralph, go take a breather, get a shred of self-consciousness or political awareness, and return to society as a rational contributor to American politics. What the fuck is with all the old guys who want to destroy their carefully built legacies this year? Uncle Tom?

Nader: Parrots can vote, right?

A clearly sedated Ralph Nader has unlocked the secret to campaign coverage: rambling to a disinterested parrot about most of the stuff Barack Obama rambles about to live humans. He then contemplates life as a panda (seriously) as everyone who respected him wondered what the hell happened to one of the nation's foremost public policy, consumer rights, and safety advocates. Does he even do that anymore, or is it just failed vanity campaigns for the Presidency? Ralph, I want to like you, this isn't helping.

Now he is right that there should be greater ballot access, coverage, and debate inclusion for legitimate third party candidates, but I think he could have gotten that across without the Dr. Doolittle act. Or is he running with the parrot? Oh he's running with Matt Gonzalez, a man who might not exist because I can't seem to find a single photo of him on the Nader/Gonzalez website. Found it, in the About section, on the right sidebar.

That said, if you're reading this site, you probably agree with Nader on the issues to a greater degree than Obama, as Nader goes fully left wing and Barack only partially left. You'll have your chance to vote for him in November too, as the nation's foremost parrot conversationalist is currently on the ballots of 45 states. Bob Barr also seems to be getting on a lot of ballots and will announce his policies in a video with a horse in a cowboy hat. Yes, these are the serious 3rd party candidates, you don't want to meet the unserious ones.
