China had it's 60th birthday party the other day and they certainly got their money's worth. By which I mean our money's worth. No, their massive numbers, bright colors, military precision, and highly organized co-ordination...it isn't frightening at all. Certainly not terrifying.

One wonders where they'll be in another 60 years. Probably running everything and posting up signs in our country telling us that we should "be disturbed at not understanding." See you in the work camps! Click to embiggen.

It's almost October and we all know what that means: China's birthday! What did you get China? I got it a fat hunk of American debt, which it seems to like. But with China's birthday comes a massive celebration and an example of one thing that China does extremely well: pollute cyber-attack America menace Taiwan own everything stage expertly choreographed celebrations that are simultaneously awe inspiring and yet still fill you with dread. Even their scrub censors are efficient

Earlier today Hungarian weightlifter Janos Baranyai snapped his elbow while attempting to snatch 148kg (about 325 lbs.). The footage, available below, is predictably gruesome. And while normally we only encourage small children and those with weak stomachs to watch such things, I have decided that everyone needs to see this.

Note the speed and precision with which the Chinese staff -- I believe these are the serfs who load up the dumbbells between rounds -- run up to the platform and obscure a perfectly good view of a horrible injury by surrounding the scene with bright, wide placards sporting that friendly Olympic logo.

It's almost as though this nation has had practice concealing hideous and unfortunate events.
