Picture of the day
Because its Visual Metaphor Day here at These Bastards we'd like to bring to you NASA's look at human based Earth scarring: open-pit mines, craters, and sinkholes. Use them to visually represent how you feel about a certain aspect of American life that you feel has been rendered into a bombed out and depleted gaping hole in the planet that is so massive it can be viewed from space. The great thing about 2009? We have a lot of options that fit the metaphor.
